Robert founded SmartBuilder in 1999 with a vision to make it faster and easier for organizations to produce effective online learning experiences. Prior to SmartBuilder, Robert led global project teams for Gemini Consulting for companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Phillips, Merck and Loral, helping to design and implement structural change programs at these organizations. Robert also has hands-on experience in training and professional education through his work at Accenture where he developed and conducted training programs throughout Europe and Asia on emerging technologies. Robert earned a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Wharton.
Kent Xu joined SmartBuilder in 2001 and has been instrumental in the design and development of the company's software products. Kent takes a leading role in realizing the company's vision of providing innovative and powerful elearning solutions to the enterprise training market. Prior to joining SmartBuilder, Kent was a developer specializing in data mining for PDA applications. Kent has extensive experience in object-oriented design and development, server-side enterprise solutions, and client-side applications delivered through Java, HTML5 and Flash. He has taught algorithms and object oriented programming at San Diego State University. He holds a Masters in Computer Science from SDSU and a B.S. in Computer Science from Shanghai University.
Anne leads SmartBuilder's consulting practice, partnering with clients to solve business challenges related to workplace performance. Anne has deep experience in the fields of adult learning, performance support, and elearning in the legal, consumer products, marketing research, and banking industries. She has led SmartBuilder elearning projects for clients including Google, YMCA of the USA, US Courts, Swarovski and others.
